🕊️ Instinct

A devotional reflection on rediscovering your sacred compass

đź“– Romans 8:16

“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

As the sun dipped behind the Pipestone bluffs, I stepped onto the ancient path. My work shoes pinched, but out here, I could finally breathe.

I spotted a green heron poised by the waterfall—utterly still, utterly sure. It didn’t overthink its place in the world. It just was. And in that moment, something shifted in me. All the noise I’d carried—old friendships fractured, judgment flung like stones, the ache of needing others to tell me who I was—began to fall quiet.

Could instinct be holy?

Could the Voice within me—the one I kept silencing—actually be the one I was meant to follow all along?

sacred.”

🙏🏼 Prayer

Patient Listener,
You who guide the flight of the heron and the heart of the wanderer,
Help me quiet the voices of doubt and listen to the rhythm You placed inside me.
Let instinct be my holy compass and grace my steady ground.
Amen.
