Roots of Trust: Finding Peace in Divine Rhythms

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14

There’s something beautifully freeing in knowing that even when I’m not doing anything

— when life feels unproductive or unsettled

— God is still working in the background.

The Earth has been quietly teaching me this for years.

Seeds break open beneath the soil in their own time.

Tides ebb and flow without being commanded by human hands.

The moon keeps her faithful orbit without effort.

None of creation strains or panics — it simply rests in the rhythms God has set.

The Genesis flood story reflects this same truth.

Though the waters raged and the world seemed swallowed in chaos, God was carrying Noah and his family toward His appointed future.

The ark floated, guided by unseen hands, until the right moment came.

Noah didn’t have to understand every detail of the plan — he just had to trust that God was in control.

I’m learning that my journey is like that, too.

I don’t always see the plan, and I can’t always control the timing.

But I can choose to rest in the safety of God’s presence — in that deep “He’s got my back” assurance that steadies my soul.

Trees grow not by straining, but by rooting deeply and reaching upward in season.

I can root myself in God’s promises and trust His timing, knowing that unseen processes are already moving me toward wholeness.

When change triggers my anxiety, when I feel the old urge to fight for security with constant vigilance, I want to remember this: I am held within the same divine rhythms that sustain the earth.

And if the God who commands the tides is for me, I can rest in His perfect care.

Affirmation:

“I trust the unseen work of God in my life. I am rooted in His promises, growing in His timing.”
