Capturing moments. Preserving memories. Finding beauty in the ordinary.

I’ve always loved photographs.
Not just because they’re beautiful, but because of what they hold.
A familiar smile. A look on someone’s face. A moment of laughter. The way the sunlight falls across a field or catches the feathers of a bird.
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that stay with us the longest.
And I think that’s why I love photography so much.
Learning to See the Little Things
I’ve always felt drawn to nature and animals. There’s something about being outdoors, away from the noise, that helps me slow down.

I love watching birds, especially when I can get close enough with my camera to see the tiny details in their feathers. I love catching a deer resting quietly or discovering something beautiful in a place other people might walk right past.
Some of my favorite photographs came from my time in Washington.
The brilliant blue of a Steller’s jay. Driftwood scattered along the shoreline. The rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
I remember the excitement of capturing those moments, especially when I got home and could finally look at the pictures.
Sometimes I couldn’t believe what I’d managed to capture.
And I still get that feeling.
The People Behind the Pictures
As much as I love wildlife photography, there’s another side of photography that’s just as meaningful to me.
People.
I love capturing genuine expressions.
Not necessarily the perfectly posed smile, but the one that happens when someone forgets the camera is there.
The laughter between photographs. A quiet expression. Two people enjoying a moment together.
I think about the pictures I’ve taken over the years and how much some of those moments mean to me now.
Especially the photographs of my son, Zane.
When I look back at pictures of him growing up, I’m reminded how quickly life moves. A photograph can take me right back to a moment I might otherwise have forgotten.
That’s something I treasure.
And it’s something I hope to give other people through my photography.
Finding Beauty in the Ordinary
I’ve learned that beautiful moments don’t always announce themselves.
Sometimes they’re quiet.
Sometimes they’re messy.
Sometimes they’re hiding in the middle of an ordinary day.
I think photography has taught me to pay attention.
To notice.
To slow down long enough to appreciate what’s right in front of me.
And maybe that’s part of why I love it so much. It’s not only about what I capture with my camera.
It’s about what I learn to see.
Natalie in the Wild
I’ve been photographing things I love for years, but creating Natalie in the Wild Photography feels like giving that love a place of its own.
I’m still learning. Still growing. Still discovering what kind of photographer I want to become.
I don’t need every photograph to be perfect.
I want it to be meaningful.
I want people to look at their portraits and recognize themselves. I want someone to look at one of my wildlife photographs and feel a little of the wonder I experienced when I took it.
More than anything, I want to preserve moments worth remembering.
Because life moves quickly.
People grow and change. Seasons come and go. Places we love don’t always stay the same.
But sometimes, if we’re paying attention, we get to keep a little piece of a moment.
And that’s a gift.
Welcome to Natalie in the Wild Photography.
I’m glad I get to share what I’ve seen through my lens.
