June 30 Reflections at the Three Maidens, Pipestone Monument by Natalie Pray

There’s something sacred about watching the sky reflect itself in still water.

I stood by the Three Maidens—those ancient stones nestled in the heart of Pipestone National Monument—camera in hand as the sun slipped behind the horizon.
The air was quiet, golden, like the earth was holding its breath.
The colors of evening crept across the pond’s surface like a whispered promise: This isn’t the end.
There’s more. And it’s eternal.
That day’s devotional, June 30, spoke straight to my spirit. It explored the quest to live forever—not in fantasy, but in the deepest sense of soul survival.
Our longing to endure, to be known, to belong beyond death.
The fear of death has haunted me many times… but then Jesus reframes it:

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul.
Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
— Matthew 10:28 (NLT)
That verse anchored me. It reminded me that my soul is untouchable by human harm—eternal, secure, and held by the One who conquered death.
The Scriptures say Christ Jesus has “brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Timothy 1:10). And somehow, standing in the presence of those boulders—guardians of memory, shaped by wind and time—I felt that truth in my bones.

“If you believe, you don’t have to fear death. Because it is only the gateway to eternal life.”

📷 Reflections at the Water’s Edge:
The Three Maidens stood silent as I captured the stillness.
I thought of my grandmother. I thought of my son.
I thought of all I’ve lost and all I still hope for.
And I whispered, “I will live forever—in Him.”

Scripture for the Soul:
Romans 2:7 – “To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, He will give eternal life.”

1 Corinthians 15:54 – “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

Psalm 49:15 – “But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; He will surely take me to Himself.”
🕊️ What parts of you are eternal? What fears are ready to fall away like old leaves?
Let the quiet of the water, the age of the rocks, and the promise of Christ speak to you.
You were made for eternity. And your soul is already known.

With love from the sacred stone,
Natalie
