Whispers on the Wind: Hearing God in Creation’s Song

In the rustle of autumn leaves,
I hear Your gentle call,
A whisper on the wind
That echoes through it all.

The patter of rain on rooftops,
A rhythm steady as breath,
Washing the dust from weary places,
Softening the weight I’ve carried.

Thunder rolls across the plains,
Your power on full display,
Yet in the hush that follows,
I hear You speak without force:

“My child, I’ve always been here—
In storm and in the calm.
Listen closely to My voice;
It sings through nature’s psalm.”

The chirp of winter birds,
Faithful in the cold,
Carries quiet assurance—
Life still rises, even here.

As seasons turn and landscapes change,
So does the posture of my heart.
With every breeze and shifting sky,
I learn to listen more deeply.

Even when the wind goes silent,
I trust You are still speaking.

So let the world’s noise fade away.
I tune my heart toward You,
For in creation’s chorus,
Your love sets my soul free.

Hearing God in the Quiet Places

In every season, God speaks.

It is not always through thunder or spectacle.

More often, His voice arrives softly—woven into the rhythms of creation we pass by each day.

A breeze through tall grass.
Rain against the roof.
Birdsong in the cold.

When we learn to listen to these whispers on the wind, we realize God has been near all along.

He is steady, present, and faithful.

This is true even when life feels unsettled.

Creation does not rush. It does not shout.

And yet, it proclaims truth with quiet confidence.

As Scripture reminds us:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” — Psalm 19:1

May we slow enough to hear what has always been singing.
